We recommend taking advantage of every discount available, so we ask a lot of questions as we go through the quoting process. Things like past or present military service, your occupation, the top level of education you completed, even your kid’s grades in school, can all lower your premium.
The two biggest money-savers available to everyone are “bundling” and “paying in full,” and we strongly advise our customers to benefit from these two discounts whenever possible as they are almost always the biggest deductions you can get.
“Bundling” is just what it sounds like – bundling your auto policy with another product, usually homeowners or renters. The savings are real! If you can afford to pay your premium in full, that’s also a sizable discount.
Finally, there are monitored driving programs where the insurance company tracks you and others on your policy via an app each driver downloads on their phone(s). It is a discount at the start but be advised that knife cuts both ways and if you’re driving a little recklessly at times, it can actually increase your premium over time.
